NYFW Blues

I have been enjoying so many elements from this past New York Fashion Week that I have been carefully compiling small lists of all the different details just so that I can keep everything straight. One of my favorite color trends that seems to be reasonably obvious, is the deep, rich, and often metallic blue that popped up in so many collections. Blue happens to be one of my favorite colors, and when it comes to my wardrobe, I tend to gravitate towards it. Especially since almost everything else I own is grey scale. So I guess it's really no shock that I am completely enamored with all of the black and blue outfits that came down the runway this season. The shades are varying from truly dark navy, up through neon, and there is even a shade that has purple undertones in it. My absolute favorite though is the electric metallic blue that was seen on runways such as Prabal Gurung or Zac Posen. The bold blue, paired with deluxe fabrics and black leather, looks refined and rich. Here are just a few examples from some of my favorite shows...

I think this is something to be very excited about don't you think? I have much more NYFW commentary on the way. There is still another color trend waiting to be announced along with some heavy knits, high slits, chinoiserie, outwear love, and of course one of my all time favorite designers.
