Bag Ladies via Refinery29

I loved this "What Your Bag of Choice Says About You" post from Refinery29. I couldn't help but to share it because it's pretty on the mark. The only personality they didn't cover is what kind of girl carries all of these fabulous bags? The kind of girl I need to become bag-borrowing-friends-with, that's who!

It's pretty much a given that all of us have a canvas tote or two hanging in our closets, but do you fall into any of these other categories, even if your bag of choice is still a dream-bag? If so, head on over to Refinery29 and drop a comment. As much as I'd like to say I'm a Celine Luggage Tote, especially since I do love a good vodka gimlet, in actuality I'm more of a Cambridge Satchel Co. kind of girl. To be more exact, I actually opted for the Kate Spade Essex Scout (I'll post a picture sometime), which is close enough in design that I feel comfortable lumping myself into the Cambridge Co. group. After all I am more of the camera toting, quirky type who will most likely be photographing iconic bags rather than sporting them. That's more fun to me anyhow!

Early Spring

Where I live spring has come early for once! Daffodils and hyacinths are in bloom and the trees are budding with new leaves. What this also means is that I can actually wear things like tank tops and sandals outside of the comfort of my apartment. I am however unprepared for such seasonal wardrobe shifts (i.e. pale skin and non-manicured toes). Over the next couple of days while I get myself in order, I'll leave you readers with my current favorite Pinterest board that is full of lovely pastels, flowers, and spring appropriate attire.

I love to garden so of course my boards are full of flowers, but when it comes to color I have been loving pink again. I've also been enjoying tiny floral patterns and lady like shoes. Who else is excited for spring?!

One Small Piece

If I could have one thing from Fall Fashion Week 2012 it would have to be this animal motif knit sweater from Altuzarra.

I know it seems like an odd choice compared to all the grandeur we have seen flowing down the runway, but this piece seems to speak to me and I can tell I would wear it to death. I really enjoyed the knits from this season, and look forward to how we all choose to interpret them.

Balmain Fall 2012

Happy weekend to all! I have been working quite a bit lately, so unfortunately it's the blog that has been taking the hit. I have in my spare time however, still been drooling over all of the Fashion Week gems. Today it's the casually cool, French house of Balmain. Now since everyone is already very aware of how covet-able a Balmain jacket is, I'm going to share dresses instead. I love the short hemline that bares nearly all the leg, while the neck and arms remain mostly covered. I think for broad-shouldered women, this makes for a great silhouette. And since the silhouettes are so simple, this allows for major embellishment, something that I personally enjoy.

Wonderful aren't they! I highly recommend checking out the rest of the show in order to be inspired by some other noteworthy features such as the tailored pants, a few high slit skirts, and of course the jackets.
